Short version: we store what you type in and what you need to be a member. We do not sell it, we do not track you around the internet, and we never see your card.
What we store
Because you gave it to us:
- Your name, email address, and password, kept scrambled so nobody can read it.
- Your profile: handle, picture, one-line tagline, bio, what you are building, where you are, your timezone, and the answers you gave during onboarding.
- Everything you post: forum posts, replies, feature requests, and direct messages.
- Anything you upload, such as a profile picture or an image in a post.
Because the product needs it to work:
- Your progress through lessons, your points, and your posting streak.
- When you were last active, so the member directory is not full of ghosts.
- Your subscription status, and the Stripe customer and subscription references. Not your card.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information, or share it for advertising.
- We do not run advertising or tracking pixels inside the platform.
- We never see your card number. Payment happens on Stripe’s own pages and your card details never reach our servers.
Who else touches it
Only the companies that run the thing:
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Neon stores the database.
- Stripe handles payments and subscriptions.
- Resend sends the emails, when email is switched on.
Each of them only gets what they need to do their job, and none of them are allowed to use it for anything else.
Who can see what you post
Posts, replies and feature requests are visible to other members. Direct messages are visible to the people in the conversation, and to us if we have to investigate a report of abuse. Your profile is visible to members only, unless you turn on a public profile, in which case the parts you chose become visible to anyone.
A note about images
Images you upload are stored on a file service so they load quickly. Their web addresses are long and random, so nobody can find them by guessing, but anyone you send one of those addresses to can open it without signing in. Treat an image you post the way you would treat a link you shared.
Cookies
We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies on the member side of the site.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. If you cancel, your account and what you posted stay so that conversations you were part of still make sense to the people in them. Ask us to delete it and we will.
What you can ask for
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email alexyc9381@gmail.com and we will do it within 30 days. You can turn off emails from any email we send, using the link at the bottom of it, without signing in.
Where it is stored
On servers in the United States and Europe, run by the companies listed above. If you are in the UK or the EU, you have rights under UK and EU data protection law, including the right to complain to your data protection regulator.
Children
This is not for under 18s, and we do not knowingly hold information about them.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, we will say so here and change the date at the top.
